This is a close copy of a pair in the Victoria and Albert museum, London (FE14-1980) which are dated 1600-1700AD. With a lower storage section housing 3 drawers and an adjustable shelf, the upper platform is ideal for the display of Ceramics, Jade, and other precious objects. The brass circular hinges and lock plates copy the design of the original.
They are made of oil polished Narra (Pterocarpus Indicus).
